Personal Progress File (PPF) is designed to assist in the creation, maintenance and printing of portfolios for the United Kingdom's National Record of Achievement. It isupremely easy to use, having been designed for use by complete computer novices. It isn't even necessary for users to save their files, it is done automatically. In fact this software is loaded with failsafe features to prevent loss of data. Other easy to use features include a spell-checker and a print-preview display. A key feature of the software is its ability to automatically format and print correctly on the official pre-printed NRA sheets.

This personal edition is available free for home use. Another version is available, designed for use in multi-user environments such as schools, colleges and training sites in the UK. The files created in either version are completely interchangeable so, for example, users, having prepared a file at school can take the file home on floopy disk and edit it there with the free software, or vice versa.

PieceCopy is a tiny tool which will extract a portion of a specific file. You can use it to extract data of files, to cut file headers, to retrieve binary data of a specific position, to rescue all possible parts of damaged files/disks or whatever.

Ever had the problem that you frequently use a file type with more than one application, while you can only associate one application with that file type? OpenExpert is the answer to this problem! Instead of messing around with a fixed association of a file type with only one application, it adds an "Open with" item to the context menu of the chosen file type with all the applications you decide. Utility for determining how to ideally fit files and folders on a CD or other medium. In almost all cases it will find near- and perfect solutions within seconds. It will optionally move each found group to a seperate directory ready for copying or burning.

Eraser is an advanced security tool, which allows you to completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns.

You can drag and drop files and folders to the on-demand eraser, use the convenient Explorer shell extension or use the integrated scheduler to program overwriting of unused disk space or, for example, browser cache files to happen regularly, at night, during your lunch break, at weekends or whenever you like.

The patterns used for overwriting are based on Peter Gutmann's paper "Secure Deletion of Data from Magnetic and Solid-State Memory" and they are selected to effectively remove the magnetic remnants from the hard disk.

JPack is an ActiveX DLL and provides methods for programmatically creating and modifying packages in the 'JPack' file format.

The package is uncompressed and very basic. The whole package is loaded into memory, then the files are cached into a temp directory (specified or automatic). Bacause of this, once the package has loaded you can have fast, native access to the files.

As well as the JPack DLL, I have included a custom packaging application called 'JPackager', this is to assist in design-time editing of packages.

The main purpose of the Kigo Image Converter is changing formats of existing image files. scale images up or down, add watermark to image files. Fully supports batch converting.

The Mediamat is a file manager & timer. It is suitable as a main program for self-recording CD´s used to open all types of file (exe, bmp, htm etc.). Descriptions, screenshots and groups can be assigned to the entries. Mediamat projects are easy to develope thanks to drag´ n drop. Built in are over 20 script commands to create folders, unzip files etc. With the integrated layout designer an own user interface can be created (e.g. a background image showing a company logo). Try to open a file with exclusive access. This can be very useful in a bat-file if you want to process a specific file that may be opened in another program (word for example). WaitForFile will block until it is able to open the specified file.

Small, Fast, and Free File Splitter

If you work a lot with the paths to files or folders like I do, this can be a time saving tool. This will add the command 'Copy This Path' to the right click context menu in Windows Explorer to copy the full path of a file or folder to Windows Clipboard. The additional option 'Auto Send' automatically opens Notepad with the copied path already pasted in.

The quick, simple, easy to use directory list creating utility. Using The Html Directory in just a few clicks you'll be creating html lists of files and folders from any drive on your computer. It can also be used for creating site maps of your web site with your choice of active or non active links. Options include choice of text, background, link colors and background image. Also shows the size of each directory.

File Renamer will let you rename all your files and folders, but with a lot more options. You can batch rename all files, add string to beginning or end of filenames, remove string from all the names to rename, change all the file extensions, numerate all filenames sequentially, convert all to uppercase / lowercase, trim 'x' characters from beginning or end of filenames, replace spaces inside filename to underscore or eliminate all spaces, replace one string from the name with any other, and some more... Can work with one or multiple directories, remove or add individual items from file list. Select multiple files from Open dialog box. Suports Drag and Drop from Explorer. Also has unlimited 'undo' function for all past renames done.. Remembers last renaming strings, and new file extensions can be added to be used next time. Accepts command line filenames and a explorer context menu can be created so that you can right click on Explorer and directly send the selected files and folders to be renamed to the program window. You can also create 'scripts', combining several options to be applied in one go, so effectively creating brand new options to rename all your files.

Blue dot is a free GPL licensed Perl CGI tracking and web site activity measurement script which generates Apache combined style access log files. These log files can be analyzed with most standard log analysis tools to track site's popularity, referrers, hosts, etc.

The logging is based on inserting a small piece of JavaScript or SSI code into every web page. This code requests a very small blue dot image from a server where the call is logged.

Blue dot can also be configured to set and log session and persistent cookies. This can be used, for example, to track pay-per-click search engine ROI.

DirPrinting is a simple program for viewing at and printing directories contents. It offers a drive/directory window and a file list, which can be arranged and sorted according to various criteria. This list can be send to any printer (printing preview and storage included). Functions as 'copy to clipboard', 'save as file', 'send by email', 'file filter', 'search subfolders' are all available.

Unix users know and love it, now Windows users have the ability to give a single file multiple names. If you have the existing file C:DOCSFILE.DOC and execute the command FileLink C:MEMOANOTHER.DOC C:DOCSFILE.DOC, the data of the file will exist only once, but it is accessible in 2 directories using 2 different names.
Changes to the contents of one file affect both...

Rad FTP is a graphical File Tansfer Program Written in pure java. It is multi-threaded and therefor capable of carrying out several concurrent uploads or downloads. The free version of Rad FTP is not restricted in any way and it never expires.

Both active and passive mode transfers are supported and Rad FTP is capable of dynamically switching between these modes.

Since the program is written in pure java it can be used on windows, linux and macintosh platorms as well as any other operating system where the java virtual machine is available.

The database can describe files to make it easy to overview their contents and to search for special files by the description typed in. The files are stored separately, where they were originally located. Nevertheless they can quickly be viewed by the functionality provided in the database form. This can help to avoid redundantly storing of data in file format on different network computers by different persons, who work on the same or similar items.

FileAnt is a File Manager (like explorer) on tabs (like UltraEdit), it is also an Ftp Client and has nice features such as folder pie charts, and a viewer for commonly used file formats. It now loads almost instantly, uses very little memory. The Ftp Client is multi-download (you can keep browsing while downloading lots of files). The Pie Chart features 2D telescopic browsing. Advanced tools let you modify file dates, sync folders, edit archives, and change file attributes en masse. There is also a handy little mp3 player in the tray.

TC: shell to displays the Type and Creator codes of Macintosh files using Windows NT Explorer.
Put the program tc.exe in your Windows NT director.; Open the directory called SendTo owning to your account. For ex., open the directory: c:winntProfilesAdministratorSendTo. Put the batch file tc.bat in this directory; Via NT Explorer, select file, right click, select tc.bat The Type and Creator codes of the Macintosh file are displayed in a MSDOS

Automatic file and directory rename.

InfoTag Magic is a Windows shell infotip extension that displays the title, artist, album, year, bit rate, duration and other information stored in the tag fields of MP3, WMA, Monkey's Audio and Ogg Vorbis files in a tooltip window when mouse pointer is hovered over a file in Windows Explorer.
Also it provides quick preview for plain text files, such as TXT, INI, LOG, BAT, DIZ, BAK and QUE. As a bonus feature InfoTag Magic displays various properties (target file name, location, working directory, arguments) for Windows shortcuts and version information (file and product version numbers, product name and description, internal name and copyright) for executable files, such as EXE, DLL and OCX.

PlusPAD is an advanced PAD file generator, editor and validator. Includes a solid project based management of the PAD files, embedded validation, multiple languages, fast file processing and esthetic GUI. PlusPAD is able to generate 1 or multiple PAD files, save the formatted html version of the PAD file or even view the PAD file as raw XML inside the embedded browser. NASLite v1.x is a collection of single floppy disk based Network Attached Storage (NAS) Server Operating Systems designed to transform a basic computer into a dedicated file server. NASLite v1.x is intended primarily for use in a small business or home office network. By design, NASLite v1.x is a community file server and does not support features such as user management , the ability to join domains or disk quotas. However, it is very easy to set-up and use.
