PieceCopy is a tiny tool which will extract a portion of a specific file. You can use it to extract data of files, to cut file headers, to retrieve binary data of a specific position, to rescue all possible parts of damaged files/disks or whatever.

Make a pop-up start menu on your CDRs. Burn this program onto a Data CD along with the your other files and folders. CT RegKey Backup is a handy utility for making backups of Registry keys and their sub keys. While it is not a Registry Editor it is an easy to use utility that restores keys that have been modified by programs or web sites. This can be a life saver in certain situations such as restoring your Home and Search page after a sleaze site has taken them over or if a newly installed program changes your favorite settings. Once a backup has been made simply clicking that backup file will restore your settings. Additionally you can use the backup file to transfer your settings to another Computer such as Outlook Express settings and accounts, Explorer settings or any other program that uses the Registry to store settings as most do. When a Windows XP user asks how to fix a problem they've recently started having with their PC my first response is to use System Restore to roll it back to a point just before the problem started. Analyzes two folders and compares the differences. Great for synchronizing large collections of media files such as MP3s, Videos, Etc. without copying every file. BackupToZip is a simple backup program. It maintains a
compressed mirror of a set of files in a single large ZIP
file. You can then copy this ZIP file to DVD, flash drive,
hard disk or CD for backup. Unlike a compression utility,
such as WinZIP, if you delete files, the next time you run
BackupToZip it will automatically delete those deleted files
from the backup archive. It will also automatically update
changed or add new files as needed.

To restore, you would use a conventional ZIP tool such as
WinZIP to fetch replacements for the damaged files from the
archive.

BackupToZip is much faster than recreating the archive from
scratch each time with WinZIP. It also avoids the usual
problem of gradually accumulating more and more junk in your
backup archive files that have long been deleted from your actual
files. With an ordinary archiving utility, come time to
restore, you have to manually sort through the accumulated
chaff.

The first time you invoke BackupToZip it will take a fair
bit of time. Every time thereafter will be much faster
since it will only have to compress the files that have
changed.

Be aware that if you change the command line, any files NOT
mentioned on the new command line will be automatically
deleted! You don't have to start from scratch. Note that you
can't add to the archive with several different command
lines. If your command line gets too long, use two separate
archive files and two separate groups of files to backup.

The BootSave suite will work under DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows
95/98/ME, OS/2, but not NT, Windows 2000, XP, Vista or Windows 7.
These OSes block low level disk I/O as a security measure.
You should temporarily boot from a DOS diskette to save or
restore. You can save the boot record under Win2K/XP (but
not Vista) but you must boot under DOS to do the restore.

This version does NOT save the boot sectors for each
individual partition, just the MBR (master boot record) that
contains the primary booting code, and the partition
information for the four primary partitions. Have a look at
Acronis or Boot-It for a complete backup.

You must use
